Classic Mushroom Silicone Cupping Cup Size Guide

Watch the 18-second visual guide, then use the notes below to choose S, M, L, and XL cups by fit, body area, and suction control.

Classic Mushroom size guide: S, M, L, and XL application areas in a square short-video format.

Choosing a silicone cupping cup should not begin with the question, "Which cup is strongest?" It should begin with a more practical question: which cup can form a stable, comfortable seal on this specific body area while giving the user enough control?

Key idea: Cup size is mainly about fit, coverage, and control. Bigger is useful only when the rim can seal evenly on suitable soft tissue.

Classic Mushroom size recommendations

S / No. 4 Cup

Small

Diameter: 1.8" / Height: 1.4"

Best for face, jawline lifting, wrist, and sole where placement space is limited.

M / No. 3 Cup

Medium

Diameter: 2.4" / Height: 1.8"

Best for shoulder, arm, and neck areas where a smaller footprint helps follow curved muscles.

L / No. 2 Cup

Large

Diameter: 2.9" / Height: 2.2"

Best for abdomen and fleshy calf areas when the full rim can maintain even contact.

XL / No. 1 Cup

X-Large

Diameter: 3.9" / Height: 2.9"

Best for broad back, thigh, and other large fleshy muscle areas that can support wider coverage.

How to choose the right size

The correct size is usually the largest cup that fits entirely within the intended soft-tissue area, keeps a smooth seal around the full rim, avoids sharp bony landmarks, and can be applied with mild, controllable suction.

If a cup repeatedly loses its seal, pinches at one edge, bridges over bone, or requires excessive compression to stay attached, it is usually too large for that location or unsuitable for that body contour.

Stationary use vs. gliding use

For stationary cupping, start conservatively because the same tissue remains loaded for the full application time. For gliding cupping, use lighter suction than a stationary placement and enough compatible lubricant for the cup to move smoothly without catching.

Five-step fit test

  1. Inspect the area. Skin should be intact and free from active irritation, infection, or unexplained swelling.
  2. Check the footprint. The full rim should sit on suitable soft tissue rather than sharp bone or sensitive anatomy.
  3. Apply minimal suction. Use the least compression needed to create a stable seal.
  4. Assess the sensation. Gentle pulling can be expected; sharp pain, burning, numbness, or throbbing is a reason to remove the cup.
  5. Recheck the skin. Adjust or stop if the skin response is unexpectedly rapid or severe.

Safety boundaries

Do not apply cups over open wounds, infected skin, burns, suspected blood clots, varicose veins, fractures, acute traumatic injuries, or directly over vulnerable anatomical structures. People with bleeding disorders, anticoagulant medication, pregnancy, recent surgery, unexplained pain, or significant medical conditions should seek appropriate professional guidance before cupping.
